The purpose of existence of the Department is to develop fundamental and applied optics through coordinated efforts of the Department in the field of study, research and discuss progress in optics and related scientific fields; to disseminate knowledge of applied optics; and to support the professional development of students. Branch must attract new members to the SPIE through the promotion of basic ideas, goals and objectives of SPIE.
