2023 Study Subject. The possibility of using a new non-contact method of imaging photoplethysmography to study thermoregulatory vasodilatation of vessels was investigated. Method. Perfusion response in the outer forearm in response to local heating up to 41 ± 1 °С was assessed in six volunteers aged 39-52 years by video recording of the studied area synchronized with electrocardiogram, followed by correlation processing of the obtained data. Main results. It is shown that the change of perfusion during local heating has a biphasic character and is caused by the nervous system response mediated by the axon reflex in the first phase of vasodilation and by the synthesis of nitric oxide in the endothelial cells in the second phase. It was found that the multiple growth of perfusion in the first heating phase depends both on the initial skin temperature and on the difference in its heating temperature. It was found out that for a significant development of the vascular response to hyperthermia related to the activation of endothelial function, the heating of tissues for more than 15 min was necessary. Practical significance. It is confirmed that the method of imaging photoplethysmography reliably reflects the work of mechanisms of regulation of peripheral vascular resistance, which is of great prognostic value for the detection of primary signs of cardiovascular disease.
